To be successful in this role, you will ideally have the following experience, qualifications, and skills:

  • Technical expertise in aircraft systems, performance, loading, and standard operating procedures
  • Experience as a pilot to CPL standard or higher, or an aircraft engineering background to LAME standard or equivalent
  • Experience in, or exposure to, multi-crew flight operations
  • A degree qualification (preferably aviation-related), or equivalent industry qualifications
  • A high standard of interpersonal skills and an ability to manage and interact with the broader Flight Operations community
  • Flexibility and sensitivity when dealing with different viewpoints, styles, and cultures, and an ability to embrace and promote diversity in line with our Qantas values
  • A high level of computer skills in software applications such as PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and deliver training in a range of environments e.g. classrooms with both large and small numbers of trainees, flight training devices, and simulators
  • Demonstrated ability to provide an accurate assessment of trainees against competency standards and record these results in a Qantas Flight Training database
  • A commitment to engage in improving training courseware and processes.
