As the Paint Strip Technician you will perform the following duties:

All employees are required to use the LTLGS Integrated Quality Management System.

  • To hand, degrease/machine wash commercial aircraft components.
  • To load and unload large degrease/paint softening tanks.
  • To load and operate plastic media blast booths; internally and externally.
  • To check components are clean and protected from damage in redlines for inspection.
  • An awareness of the Major Accident Prevention Plan (MAPP).
  • To ensure that the part is protected from being damaged.
  • Operating cranes.
  • All duties shall be undertaken in compliance with Safety and Environmental Regulations and Company Procedures.
  • You may be required to train personnel in a specified area subject to your qualifications and experience.

* Takeover of additional tasks when required.


The ideal Paint Strip Technician must fulfill the following requirements:

  • GCSE 9-5 grades or equivalent.
  • Apprenticeship within Engineering.
  • Previous Paint Strip experience would be desirable.
  • Illustrate previous knowledge and experience of the use of hand tools.
  • Good knowledge, awareness, and understanding of PPE and Manual Handling.
  • Aerospace environment experiences are desirable.
  • Great team player.
  • Good communicator.
  • Punctual and reliable.
  • Honest and trustworthy.
  • Able to follow instructions and learn/absorb working methods.
  • An excellent approach to Quality Health and safety.
  • Able to work shifts (06.00 – 14:00 or 14:25 – 22:25).
  • Right to work within the UK without any restrictions.
