Job overview and responsibilities

- Read and interpret aircraft inspection & repair documentation
- Interact with mechanics and engineers
- Make repairs on aircraft components delivered to your work area
- Operate all types of welding and associated equipment for fabrication, repair, construction and production, welding, brazing, cutting and other related operations in the shop
- Apply weld identification
- Must be able to work and function in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of computers
- Must be able to maintain expected quality levels
Required:
- Formal education in a welding educational program
- Minimum of two years full-time employment experience as a GTAW welder
- Oxy-acetylene welding, oxy-acetylene brazing, TIG welding of stainless steels
- TIG welding experience (tungsten inert gas)24 months general welding experience
- High school diploma

Successful completion of the United certification consisting of 2 parts; a written portion, and a practical portion is also required in order to interview.
Preferred
- Some experience with TIG welding of aluminum, nickel, and titanium alloys
